Luckiest Mom Ever

What an amazing weekend!

Yesterday afternoon my younger daughter had a softball game.  I missed the first 45 minutes because I had to work a shift in the snack bar.  I was dreading it but I actually enjoyed it.  Loved talking with all the kids about their games as they came up to buy something.

Right before my shift ended, my older daughter called to tell me my younger daughter was playing catcher.  It was the first time playing that position with this new team!  I couldn’t wait for my shift to end so I could cheer her on.

She had an amazing game and was voted game MVP by her coaches for the second time this season!  (She also got MVP their opening game.)

I immediately took her home for a cool bath.  It was in the high 80’s out there and catcher’s equipment is hot.  Not to mention the game went on for a little over 2.5 hours!  I was so glad I had packed her an extra water bottle.  I need to find my little cooler.  I tend to bring a few extra water bottles for other kids, just in case.  And a couple ice packs!  Yes, I’m that mom.

Today, after waking up to a wonderful surprise from my girls, we planned a picnic in the park.  We found a great, shady spot in the grass to enjoy our lunch.

We were lucky enough to have a pretty good ukulele player sitting near us!

Then we settled in for some relaxing, people watching.

And then a stroll to check out the rhododendrons.  They are quickly becoming one of my favorite flowers.  This is my third Spring here and I just can’t get over how big and beautiful the blooms are!  I just wished they lasted longer.

My daughter loves them, too!

After the park, we stopped at Starbucks for the last day of their half-price frappuccinos.

Strawberries & Cream, Coconut Mocha and White Chocolate Mocha.  Yummy stuff!

I didn’t think my day could get any better.  My heart was full.  And then there was this…

A love proclamation from my 14 year old daughter for all the world to see!  My cup runneth over.

What was the best part of your weekend?
