Let’s talk about our fit fix this week!
- Friday – Rest day (more like shopping day with my girls!)
- Saturday – Hike with my girls!
- Sunday – Rest day
- Monday – Treadmill run & weight machines
- Tuesday – Booty workout at home & express upper body video
- Wednesday – Elliptical & treadmill at gym with Sassy
- Thursday – Run in neighborhood
My runs have not been very good this week. Not sure what my problem is. I had a really hard time running outside yesterday. I much prefer trail running to running around in the neighborhood. But I don’t like going in the woods alone. Now that the girls are back in school, I don’t see many trail runs in my future.
So yesterday after I got them both on their buses, I hit the streets. It was not good. During the first interval, I felt like I was running in slow motion. I think it has is because I have been mostly running on the treadmill the last couple of weeks. But I chalked it up to my usual first mile feelings. It tends to take me a couple of miles to get comfortable. Then when the interval ended and my training app told me my pace, I realized why. I was running at 9:37 average. Um, I am barely down into the 10’s usually. This faster pace drained me. Then second interval was longer in time and I just never found my groove.
I guess I need to start checking my pace while I run. I have never done that before and I don’t know if it is something I really want to deal with on my phone app constantly. It may be time to invest in a watch that does it for me. Maybe the Garmin Forerunner 10 would be a good one to start with…
