Cheesecake & a Carriage

OMG Becky’s birthday is coming up soon.  We usually have her party a couple of weeks early, just to make it feel more special for her and separate from Christmas.

This year, she wanted to go a popular entertainment district with a couple of friends.  We had hoped for clear weather, but the morning did not look very promising.  It never really got any better.  Gray day all around.

She insisted we all dress up for the night out.

I was game and broke out my new green dress Sassy had given me for my birthday and new plush lined tights.

Have you heard of these before?  Do you own any?!  You must get a pair!  They kept me so warm!

We walked around for a while.  In the rain that came down lightly the entire time we were there.

The girls didn’t mind, but my hair did.  Yikes.

Next came my favorite part.  Dessert at The Cheesecake Factory!

We all ended up ordering cheesecake.  Imagine that!

While we waited for our desserts, OMG Becky opened her gifts.

And then the cheesecake arrived!  The servers brought OMG Becky’s piece out with a candle on top and sang to her.  She loved the attention!

Sassy and I had a plan going into the night.  We decided we would share two pieces so we could each try two different flavors.  Brilliant, no?!  We ordered Chris’ Outrageous Cheesecake,

A Cheesecake Factory Original – Layers of Moist Chocolate Cake, Chewy Brownie, Toasted Coconut-Pecan Frosting and Creamy Chocolate Chip Coconut Cheesecake.

and Peppermint Bark Cheesecake,

White chocolate cheesecake swirled with chunks of chocolate peppermint bark, topped with white chocolate mousse and finished with chopped peppermint.

The peppermint was my favorite!  I only had a couple bits of the my chocolate piece and then boxed it up to take home.  Leftover cheesecake = the best kind of leftovers!

Next it was time for a carriage ride.  There was a bit of a wait, so we found a warm place to hang out.

Soon enough, the carriage had arrived!  The girls opted for a covered carriage in an attempt to stay dry.

They got to ride for about 15-20 minutes, while my parents and I entertained ourselves.

I spy The Magic Bus!

Today is Day 12 of 25 Days of Blogging Christmas Challenge.

12.  Wrapping Paper or Gift Bags?

Wrapping paper!  I really enjoy wrapping gifts.  But I have to find a box of some kind to put the gift in first.  I can’t wrap irregular shapes.  Just can’t do it.  Too frustrating.

What did you do for your last birthday?

I’ve never heard of plush tights! Thanks for that. Recently went scrounging around town tryna find a good pair that kept me warm ( unsuccessful!)

Happy Birthday to Becky! I’ve never been in a carriage ride, that looks so fun!
