Now What?

I guess it’s time we talked about it.  It’s been on the news a lot lately.  So many people sad.  I was hoping it wouldn’t affect me personally.  But it appears I cannot avoid the same sadness that seems to have gripped our nation this last week.  I’m just going to say it…

Hostess.

Hostess may be no more.  I really thought I would be alright with it.  I like sweets.  I am human, you know.  But I don’t have to Hostess products to get my fix.  Twinkies?  Not really a fan.  But apparently I am in the minority.  Have you seen the number of Hostess products on eBay?!  Over 12,000 at this moment!  Unreal.

So what’s my problem?

Bread.  Bread!  I need it man!  And I’m not talking the white-Wonder stuff.  Yuck.  No, my vice is of the richer variety.  My bread is part of the Nature’s Pride line.  Nutty Oat!  Oh how you speak to me!  I had no idea it was part of the Hostess family until my sister-in-law mentioned it last week.  She is a Nature’s Pride die-hard, too.

And now?  Now we can’t get the good stuff!  This is the sad scene at all our stores…

It’s gone.  All gone.  I fear we may never see it again.  I have been looking for a replacement, but haven’t even found anything to try yet.  What’s a girl to do?

This girl may starve.  Okay, probably not.  But I didn’t have breakfast today!  I have had the same breakfast for months now.  Slice of toast, with smear of light Laughing Cow cheese, topped with an egg.  It’s a no-brainer for me.  I can make it while half asleep.  And a lot of the time, I am that early.  But today?  No breakfast for me.  I can’t think that early in the morning.  No thinking and no bread = no breakfast for me.  Tomorrow?  Who knows.

Any good, nutty bread suggestions?  Please save me!
