Road Trip = Chipotle

Last week I had to drive to a bigger city 3.5 hours away for a work-related meeting.  I always jump at the chance to go to one of the bigger cities that require a road trip for one reason and one reason only.  Chipotle.  There I said it.  Please don’t judge me.

You have to understand I come for a BIG city.  A BIG city where I lived in a large suburb for my entire life.  I am used to having ever store and restaurant easily accessible.  Moving to this small town and its surrounding area has taken a bit of getting used to.  Not that I don’t love it, I do!  Let’s face it, I’m an adult.  If I didn’t want to live here, I won’t.  But I do miss the shopping options and the restaurants and Chipotle is one of them!

Plus, a work-related road trip always means a department car and gas card.  Doesn’t get any better than that.  Sign me up! This road trip required I be at said location at 10:00 AM, which means I left at 6:00 AM.  I hate to be late and always give myself at least a 30-minute cushion.  First stop?

Starbucks for a Spinach Feta Wrap and Iced White Chocolate Mocha!  That should help start my morning!  Though I was a bit paranoid I would drop something on my work clothes.  And of course I did!  Luckily, I has spread napkins all over my lap.  I’m sloppy prepared like that!

Next stop?

Don’t blame me, blame her.  She is constantly showing photos of her giant McD’s lemonade.  I got Sweet Tea and it was good!

Then it was time for my meeting.  One hour.  Yep,  I drove 3.5 hours to a one hour meeting.  Fine by me because then it was time for the main event!

Ahhhhhh!  Do you hear the angels singing?!  It has been 10 long months, my friend.  Way too long since our last reunion!  What is it, you ask?  Only the best veggie bowl ever!  Cilantro-lime rice, vegetarian black beans, roasted chili-corn salsa, shredded jack and cheddar white cheese, sour cream, guacamole and romaine lettuce.  Yes, yes, yes!  I also love their chips and guacamole but that’s just way too much food to eat alone.  This bowl was too much for me by myself, but I gave it my best shot!

With my belly full and my soul happy, I headed home.  About half way there I needed a little pick me up.  Am I the only one that loves stopping at the super large gas stations on a road trip to check out their goodies?  Look what I found!

A Rockstar Coconut Water!  Now I have no idea what made me think I would like this drink.  I don’t like Rockstar/energy drinks.  I only get them occasionally on road trips like this.  And I don’t like coconut water.  Please don’t hate me, it’s true.  Not sure why I thought two things I don’t like together would make for a tasty drink.  Two wrongs make a right, right?  Wrong.  Oh so wrong.

What do you love about road trips?
