I am now officially royalty. What? You are surprised by this announcement? Well I am here to tell you it’s true and here’s how.
Friday night was the Courtwarming game at my nephew’s high school. Look at him shoot!
Sadly, this was the best of all the action shots I took. Again, my remarkable photography skills are on display.
Then it was halftime and the real reason we were there. All nine of us.
Sassy, OMG Becky, Family Friend, Family Friend, SIL, SIL’s grandmother, my dad and…
My lap warmer/niece/Hoppy and me. She’s got a new hat. Can you tell? Oh and my shiny forehead. Apparently my face powder wasn’t invited.
So were we there for the cheerleaders amazing stunts?
Neat to watch, but no.
We were there to see the royal Courtwarming members and see who would be crowned King and Queen. And you have probably guessed by now, my nephew won!!
King Kicks has a nice ring to it, don’t you think. And according to my extensive research of royal titles, the aunt of a king is a princess. So Princess Shay I am! But I will try not to let it go to my head.
That would be hard to do especially in that moment because seconds later, my brother/assistant coach standing off to the left, hollering for him to get into the locker room with his team.
Apparently the fun was over and it was time to get his head back into the game.
Oh the life of a royal can be so demanding!

Did your school have a Courtwarming? We only had a fall and winter homecoming, if I remember correctly.
Do you hold a royal title?

We had homecoming and then something called snowcoming. Which I thought was completely normal. Congrats to your nephew…and you of course.
Well thank you! Snowcoming? I like the sound of it, except for the whole celebrating the snow coming part.
you crack me up. Congrats to your nephew!!
Thank you and you shall be my first lady in waiting.
[...] wonder how serious the charge for donkeynapping is. On second thought, I would probably lose my royal title at the very least. Don’t want to chance [...]
[…] Sometimes she likes to wear her crown and look down her nose at us. It’s like she forgets I am also a princess. […]
